                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 6700
                   BLOCK OF LEE HIGHWAY, BEING ON THE SOUTHEAST
                   LINE OF LEE HIGHWAY AT HOLMES ROAD FROM C-2
                   CONVENIENCE COMMERCIAL ZONE AND R-4 SPECIAL
                   ZONE TO C-1 HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
             
              A tract of land located in the 6700 block of Lee
              Highway, being on the southeast line of Lee Highway at
              Holmes Road.  Part of lots 4, 5, 7, and 8, Hickory
              Heights Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat
              book 8, page 40, R.O.H.C., being part of the unnumbered
              tract shown on the Second Corrective Plat of Mullinax
              Subdivision on Lee Highway, as shown by plat of record
              in plat book 42, page 396, R.O.H.C., and being part of
              the property described as the First Tract in deed book
              3402, page 857, R.O.H.C.  Said parts of lots form one
              tract beginning at the intersection of the southeast
              line of Lee Highway with the northeast line of Holmes
              Road (unopened), thence northeast 440.82 feet with Lee
              Highway, thence southeast 230 feet, thence northwest 40
              feet parallel to Lee Highway, thence southeast 25 feet
              to a point 255 feet southeast (if measured at a right
              angle) of the southeast line of Lee Highway, thence
              southwest some 340 feet parallel to, and at all points
              255 feet southeast of, the southeast line of Lee Highway
              to the northeast line of Holmes Road, thence northwest
              some 292 feet with Holmes Road to the southeast line of
              Lee Highway, the point of beginning.  Tax Map No.
              148F-A-21 (part).
             
         from C-2 Convenience Commercial Zone and R-4 Special Zone to 
C-1
         Highway Commercial Zone.
         	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, the 
public
         welfare requiring it.
